Nowadays stochastic ground motion models used for the seismic analysis and design of structures take into account the soil deposit only, disregarding the presence of existing buildings nearby. However, it is well known that ground motion in urban environment is modified by the presence of buildings, mainly due to the radiation energy emitted from a vibrating structure in the soil that alters the seismic free field motion. This study is a first attempt to propose a stochastic ground motion analytical model able to take into account the influence of the urban environment. A simplified discrete model is developed so to consider the influence of the radiated wave field into the free field ground motion. Comparison in terms power spectral density functions and peak ground acceleration determined from the proposed ground motion model and those determined through conventional approaches are carried out. Numerical results clearly show the efficiency of the proposed model to capture this complex phenomenon in the stochastic seismic analysis of structures by improving the accuracy of the estimation of the peak response of above 30% . Dry electrodes of a smart shirt for measuring biological signals were prepared by the additive printing method using a stretchable conductive paste with Ag fillers loading. Interfacial impedance between the electrode and skin depended on the contact pressure of electrode and the moisture of stratum corneum. When moisture of stratum corneum was more than 30%, ECG could be measured using the stretchable electrodes printed on a compression shirt. However, noise signal in the ECG signal increased when the moisture of stratum corneum was less than 30%. Bringing a single still image into reality is a challenging topic in computer animation because the driven and structural information in single still image is inadequate. In this paper, we present an image animating method for enhancing single still image in social media with virtual realistic and animated motions without prior information. We imitate the interaction between the active objects in an image and their neighboring passive objects. The existing actions in the image and the virtual specified force are employed to animate the active objects. Observing that the change between two subsequent motions of the active objects derives a motion tendency, we can calculate a virtual driving force based on the motion tendency. By virtue of the virtual driving force, the stochastic motion texture is used to animate the passive objects. Finally, the convolutional neural network is employed to optimize the virtual motion animations. In this way, the proposed method produces visually natural results while guaranteeing motion harmony between active objects and passive objects. The advancement of heat transportation is a significant phenomenon in nuclear reactors, solar collectors, heat exchangers, and electronic coolers; and it can be accomplished by choosing a nanofluid as the functional fluid. Nanofluids have improved thermophysical properties, due to their great progress in engineering and industrial applications. Therefore here, the significance of exponential space-related heat source (ESHS) on radiative heat motivated Sakiadis two-phase flow over a moving plate is analyzed for a particulate nanoliquid (CuO–H2O). The impact of the haphazard motion of nanoparticles is analyzed through the Koo–Kleinstreuer–Li model. On applying a similarity transformation to the governing equations, a set of ordinary differential equations is obtained and numerically solved. Through the perception of graphs, the behavior of the velocity and temperature constraints for diverse values of effective parameters is decoded. The results show that the temperature of both phases (dust and fluid) improves with the ESHS aspect. Also, the heat transport rate/friction factor enhances/declines with the concentration of dust particles. 相似文献

Industrial robots are required to recover from temporary errors and continue operations under a changing environment. In this paper, we propose a recovery planning system that considers the semantic information behind errors during robotic actions. In order to establish general repair strategies for feasible recovery plans under uncertainties, the proposed system uses a conceptual graph based on case grammar and a Bayesian network that is dynamically constructed according to the semantic information. In addition, we tackle the problem that the wealth of the recovery plan depends on the uncertainty of execution costs against the deadline at the production site. The proposed system controls the decision model by using a time-dependent utility. Target design methodologies (DfX) were developed to cope with specific engineering design issues such as cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, assemblability, maintainability, among others. However, DfX methodologies are undergoing the lack of real integration with 3D CAD systems. Their principles are currently applied downstream of the 3D modelling by following the well-known rules available from the literature and engineers’ know-how (tacit internal knowledge).This paper provides a method to formalize complex DfX engineering knowledge into explicit knowledge that can be reused for Advanced Engineering Informatics to aid designers and engineers in developing mechanical products. This research work wants to define a general method (ontology) able to couple DfX design guidelines (engineering knowledge) with geometrical product features of a product 3D model (engineering parametric data). A common layer for all DfX methods (horizontal) and dedicated layers for each DfX method (vertical) allow creating the suitable ontology for the systematic collection of the DfX rules considering each target. Moreover, the proposed framework is the first step for developing (future work) a software tool to assist engineers and designers during product development (3D CAD modelling).A design for assembly (DfA) case study shows how to collect assembly rules in the given framework. It demonstrates the applicability of the CAD-integrated DfX system in the mechanical design of a jig-crane.
